The St. Paul Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) is now accepting applications for entry into our comprehensive Apprenticeship Program. We invite qualified individuals committed to a rewarding career in the electrical trade to apply.
Our Apprenticeship Program provides rigorous training designed to produce highly skilled, safe, and productive electricians. We are dedicated to upholding the esteemed standards of the unionized electrical construction industry through our "Earn While You Learn" philosophy.
Application Process Overview:
Applicants who meet the conditions outlined below, and have submitted a complete application, will be scheduled for an Aptitude Test administered by GAN Human Resources. This test evaluates fundamental skills in basic mathematics, reading comprehension, and spatial reasoning. Upon testing, applicants will be placed on our Apprentice Application Record Book and remain eligible for selection for a period of one calendar year from their aptitude test date.
To be scheduled for an aptitude test, applicants MUST fulfill the following:
I. Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
• Age: Be a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of application. (Note: Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of selection and indenture into the program.)
• Education: Possess a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate.
• Mathematics: Provide proof of successful completion of an algebra course (or equivalent or higher-level mathematics) with a passing grade of "C" or higher.
• Licensure: Hold a valid driver’s license.
II. Required Documentation and Application Completion:
• Gather Documents: Compile all necessary supporting documents, which may include:
• Educational transcript(s). (Note: OFFICIAL transcript(s) submission required within 30 days of indenture into the program.)
• Work experience acceptable documents for Electrical/Construction/Other (if applicable).
• A letter of recommendation.
• Approved Community-Based Organization completion certificate (if applicable).
• DD-214 (for military veterans, if applicable).
• Online Application: Access and complete the official online application available on our website: Online Application. A non-refundable $45 application fee is required and must be paid online via credit card to submit your application.
• Upload Driver's License: Upload a clear copy of your valid driver's license.
• Personal Experience Form: Complete the Personal Experience Form (PEF) and ensure all required supporting documents are uploaded as instructed within the application portal.
